Overjoyed.

My mom rented The Sitter.
Oh my god. No. First scene, Jonah Hill eatin’ pussy.
I think the worst of it is over- this is just a little more awkward than watching the 100th Digital Short with her and a little less awkward than watching the first two seasons of Six Feet Under with her.
Love you, mom. Let’s just hope this movie doesn’t go too much further.

I’m having the worst time transitioning from an incredibly high stress environment, school, to having literally nothing to do.

I saw my grandma today- she just came back to Chicago from Florida. She’s lovely, but she asked what I want to go into and lost her shit when film was the answer. It’s not like she didn’t know that. I’ve been involved with my school’s film club as well as my own film projects all through high school. Everybody knows that film is “my thing.” She...

My thirteen year old brother just walked in and saw me looking at pictures of RDJ, grinned at me with an evil glint in his eye, and said “are you hot for Robert Downey Jr.? I know I am.”

Help me choose what to read for my summer reading...
It’s either Atonement or The Handmaid’s Tale.
I loved the movie adaptation of Atonement, but I started reading The Handmaid’s Tale earlier this year and liked what I read (I only read about a quarter of it because I had no free time).
Has anyone read either? Have an opinion?

Moonrise Kingdom comes out today— only not in Chicago.
I’m assuming that it’s been released on the coasts and will come around in a couple of weeks. I’m hoping that when it is released in Chicago, it comes to a theater reasonably close to me. If I saw Carnage in the suburbs, then I can see Moonrise Kingdom here.
